Rochester Sewing Studio is a part-time, home-based business located in Rochester, Washington. I have over 30 years of experience in sewing and alterations. My goal is to understand what your sewing and alteration needs are, and to try my best to meet (or exceed) your expectations. My specialty lies in formal-wear (bridal, prom, etc.), as well as every day needs such as hemming jeans.
You may read the 'about' tab to find out more about my experience and history.
Appointments are a MUST, as this is a part time venture for me and must work my sewing business around my ever-changing daily schedule! Therefore my address isn't listed publicly on this site. Please call or email me for an appointment or if you have any questions!
Clients have asked what forms of payment I take, etc. so here are the answers to those questions. I accept cash, check, and debit/credit cards, Paypal, and Apple Pay. *Please be prepared to pay before I start work on your project.* The exception to this would be for larger projects (usually bridal, or unusually large amounts of clothing), where an agreed-upon down payment can be made with the rest to be paid upon pick-up.
I look forward to talking with you about your project!
Author Octavia Randolph has contracted with me to make her a series of different gowns, some depicting the time era that her wonderful historical fiction novels represent! Here is Octavia, standing in the doorway of her 200 year old house on the Swedish island of Gotland. She is wearing the ensemble that I created long-distance for her. Check her out here: www.Octavia.net Her first book 'The Circle of Ceridwen' can be downloaded for free if you sign up on her mailing list. Scroll down on her site and you will find the offer.
Custom wedding June 2016 - After creating the cosplay dress for Emerald City Comicon (mentioned below), I was challenged to create a wedding dress modeled after the red velvet dress worn by Lana Parilla in the TV show Once Upon a Time. The dress was changed to eliminate the sleeves and create a halter. Luckily, the cosplayer who I do these dresses for is my daughter, so she was available for many, many fittings to get things to be just right. Here is a photo of the completed dress, with closeups in the 'Gallery', if you're interested. Once I get the professionally captured photos, I will post them here and in the 'Gallery'.
2016 - One of my challenges this year was to recreate a dress worn by actress Lana Parilla in the TV show Once Upon a Time. Below you see Lana with cosplayer, Regina Side(aka:Regina Redeemed , www.ReginaRedeemed.com) at the Emerald City Comicon in April 2016. Look in 'Gallery' for progressive photos of this project.
In 2014, I had the unique privilege of being asked to press the wardrobe of the great country music legend Kenny Rogers and his band for a weekend of concerts at the Lucky Eagle Casino. It was a great honor, and wonderful experience to work with the friendly folks of the Lucky Eagle Casino as well as the Kenny Rogers gang.
